Partitions

Partition 1

This shows the 4 x 2 timber framework of a partition, which was constructed using "through housing joints" (pic 3) at the top, "bridle joints" (pic 4) at the bottom and noggins at intervals. This provides a solid stable construction. Rockwool insulation was fitted between the timbers and the construction was faced with insulation board, plasterboard and plaster skim. An extra feature of panelling was also added in this case.

Soft insulation, usually orange in colour, which is used for thermal insulation. Timbers fitted between solid uprights to give extra strength and stability.
